The curve on Foot 2 makes it easy to support or avoid the walls of your vessel while creating a foot on your piece. The flat bottom of this tool allows you to steady it against your bat while the small cutouts at the ends create a rounded foot at the base of your vessel while it's still spinning the wheel. This foot tool also makes a great rib as you can use any side to help pull, smooth, and shape your clay.
All of the Garrity tools are made from woods that hold up well against use and water; and are finished with mineral oil.
They are designed to get messy, but it's recommended you don’t leave your tools soaking in water for very long and they should last for several years.
If your tool does get really wet, it could warp. If you dry it out for a day or two on a flat surface, it should be back to normal
